On Ending “Slavery”

A  few thoughts on our over-the-top politically correct culture.

When dShacklesealing with language & euphemisms, it’s always better to be precise & draw distinctions. Anyone likening homosexuality to being Black or Latino is either woefully ignorant or being purposely deceptive. Two of those terms describe a race, the other describes a purposefully chosen behavior.  That being said, I was watching the movie Lincoln last night with my family and had the following thought:

Homosexuals ARE like the slaves Lincoln freed: but they aren’t slaves to man…they are slaves to sin. And, while their sin is no greater or no lessor than any other sin (alcoholism, adultery, theft, etc.) the push for its acculturation & normalcy within our society & school system elevates it to a greater sin by far. So, by all means, let us continue to share Christ’s Gospel with them…so that they may be emancipated & set free.

Matthew 18:6

[ Causing to Stumble ] “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
2 Timothy 4:3

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely[a] those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
