A small dissertation on the evidences of God, His laws and His existence.
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For the atheist, railing against & shaking their pseudo-intellectual fist at God, the evidence is hidden…in plain sight. Most atheists are either not true adherents to their Worldview OR don’t understand the tenets of their “faith” (and it IS a faith).
Atheism posits a bleak, randomly occurring world (created, oddly enough, from nothing) as well as randomly created species that, eventually, evolved into man. They’re not quite certain how to tie all this together (the smartest amongst them realizing that it’s a major problem) so their strategy is to throw TIME at it…hoping that enough folks’ll agree with the hair-brained premise that if one throws enough time at anything….miracles can happen. G.T Chesterson sums this theory up nicely when he says:
“It is absurd for the Evolutionist to complain that it is unthinkable for an admittedly unthinkable God to make everything out of nothing, and then pretend that it is more thinkable that nothing should turn itself into everything.”
Another point on which they’re extremely confused and contorted is the subject of morality and all its entailments [e.g. good/evil, right/wrong, value judgments, etc]. The confusion stems from the fact that they desperately try to keep one foot in their Worldview…and another within the Worldview of the Christian (a Worldview, btw, which they reject and dismiss as idiotic). The “rub” as it were, comes into play when one realizes that, even if one stretched their imagination to accept the fact that distinct species & kinds could jump/morph into other species & kinds (dogs to cats or, as it were monkeys & apes to man)…despite having absolutely zero evidence (or a shred of a shadow of a hope of ever finding any such evidence)…one could never achieve morality, or a Moral Code from a first cause of Slime+Time+Chance. The best they can ever come up with is pragmatism…which can tell them that it’s better to be alive then dead – but it cannot tell them WHO should be alive and WHO should be dead (issue of abortion, euthanasia, mercy killings, etc).
And even with pure pragmatism…it’s still very much subjective. And, as with all things subjective, who’s to say who is correct: Che Guevera, Ronald Reagan, Mother Theresa, Josef Stalin…? Some cultures honor their guests while others eat them – does the atheist have a personal preference?
Subjects like rape, murder, torture and other acts of barbarism & savagery seem to get them riled up (they’ll often blame religion, btw) – but given their tenets of natural selection and survival-of-the-fittest…they shouldn’t get upset at all; for it’s their self affirmed natural order or, as their author/hero Richard Dawkins states it: It’s only mankind dancing to their DNA”.
There’s a simple formula they refuse to accept:
· Objective morality exists only if God exists
· Objective morality exists
· Therefore, God exists
They’ll scramble, twist & writhe over that one…but anything else is pure, subjective opinion and, as stated above, it boils down to opinion: one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter…there is no overarching metric by which to judge.
God’s moral code is written onto the heart of his creation…that’s how we “know” when something is inherently “good” or “bad” or even “evil” – there is no other metric available within the naturalist/evolutionist/atheistic framework or Worldview. They’ll try hard to posit that morality simply evolved or that man invented it…but again: they can’t recreate it in the lab and there is zero possibility that a moral code evolved from a random evolutionary process…no matter how many billion of years they toss out.
The very metric that the atheist uses to judge religion, Christianity and God Himself is God’s Moral Code, written onto their hearts at birth, but rejected as such at some point in time as a means of either not wanting to be responsible for their sin or simply wanting to believe that it is they who are in control and not a creator. Ah, but there’s another catch: if God is a murderer and a pedophile and a torturer and a homophobe and capricious, and greedy and vain and guilty of rape, plunder, genocide and horrific acts of evil either by omission or commission…AND God doesn’t exist…
…then WHO is responsible for all that stuff that they conveniently accuse God of committing?
